about

The first two tracks on this album both refer to the black sword wielded by the albino Prince, Elric of Melnibone. The sword is not an inanimate object but rather a sentient being who takes this form to work its own purposes. According to Moorcock, Stormbringer, who delights in evil, becomes the Satan of our World. In the world of Elric it has the ability to "Steal" souls which, according to the author, is no more than energy to be consumed. The writers of the star Trek series used the same idea. Personally, I find the whole concept repulsive. My own personal beliefs include the immortality of the soul which survives death. In my own story, which I used as the inspiration for the Tenebrae series, Elric survives death and becomes the character D.I. Zachariah Winters.
